Terms of service

By installing or using Counterproof you agree to these terms.

The service

Counterproof drafts chargeback rebuttal letters and assembles supporting exhibits for your Shopify Payments and Stripe disputes, grounded in your order data and cited to card-network rules. Evidence selection and validation are deterministic; a language model writes connective prose within a fixed skeleton and never selects evidence or asserts facts. You review every packet before it is submitted.

Billing

Counterproof is a flat monthly fee — $29–99, or a free tier — chosen up front. There are no success fees and no charges tied to what you recover. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future charges and there are no post-cancellation charges. Disputes we advise you not to fight do not count toward your plan's fought-dispute limit.

No guarantee of outcome

We do not and cannot guarantee that any dispute will be won. Chargeback outcomes are decided by the card networks and issuing banks, not by us. We publish honest win rates with their denominators (for example, true-fraud representments win a minority of the time) precisely so you can set realistic expectations; nothing on this site is a promise of a specific result.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Counterproof's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost recoveries or lost revenue.
